Delhi, the capital of India has been dotted with several remarkable temples which stand as a strong example of the beautiful architecture, culture, style and customs this place has to offer. Every festive season, one can see thousands and thousands of devotees who crowd in and around the temple with expensive garlands and sweet in order to worship and get a glimpse of their Gods and Goddesses. The temples here are decorated with bright and colorful lights which create a beautiful image as it glitters in the eyes of the pilgrims, visitors and devotees. 

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is one of the most prominent Sikh Gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship, in Delhi, India and known for its association with the eighth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Krishan, as well as the pool inside its complex, known as the “Sarovar. 

The Birla Mandir is located in the west of Connaught Place and was built in the year 1938. It is a dedication to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi and is also known as Lakshmi Narayan Mandir. This temple has quite a historical significance and is one of the best temples this city owns. 

The Bahai temple, also known as the Lotus temple is one of Delhi’s finest and unique temples. It is shaped like the lotus flower and looks brilliant when it is lit up at night. The garden that surrounds this temple is also quite picturesque and serves as a great spot for picnics.

Lunch at local restaurant 

After lunch, proceed to visit The Iskcon Temple was built by the International Society of Krishna Consciousness back in the year 1998. This holy place is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is one of the most prestigious and well established temples of the city. 

Akshardham Temple. The monument boasts a complex style of architecture and consist of 234 ornately carved pillars, 09 domes and more than 20,000 statues of various Hindu sages, saints and Acharyas (Teachers). This temple is mostly crowded throughout the year and has a huge number of visitors every year. 

Finally, as the evening goes on, witness the spectacular musical fountain show, which depicts the cycle of birth, life and death as mentioned in Indian mythology. This 15 minutes fountain show is called “Cycle of Life” and takes place as the sun sets. After that, have a bite of an Indian Samosa and some Masala Tea.
